綺麗な景色に会うときに限ってカメラがないJOBAです。
今回は近未来SF復讐アクション作品 アップグレードです。
予告編からしてストーリーはシンプルなタイプで、奥さんを奪われた夫が人体改造して無双する作品かな、と思っていました。
世界観として割と近未来かなと。ドローンが常に街を監視し、人間にも医療機器の延長として機会が埋め込まれていて、裏の世界では銃も腕に仕込める。
車も半分は自動運転の車も走っていて、半分はアナログな車も走っている。Siriやアレクサのような音声アシスタントもあり、人間の作業が減った世界。
主人公グレイは妻とドライブデート中に謎の組織に襲われ、妻を奪われ、グレイは四肢が麻痺状態に。
仕事で付き合いがあった科学者にSTEMという身体機能を取り戻すチップを入れてもらい、麻痺状態からは回復。
しかし突然脳内でSTEMが喋り出し、妻を奪った組織を共に探すことに。
人工知能と共闘ということで個人的にはアイアンマンのジャービスを思い出し、テンションが上がりました。
AIならではの冷静な判断とジャービスとは違い、身体まで動かしてくれ、戦闘も行ってくれるという憧れの展開。
冷静過ぎてグロめな展開もありましたが、やられるのは悪役ばかりとういうことで割と爽快感はありました。
アクションは派手さがないという評価もありますが、人工知能が効率だけを考えて動いたらこうなるんだろうなという感じで、個人的にはそれもリアルでした。
そして物語は進み黒幕を追い詰めるところに。
ここからは衝撃のネタバレになってしまうので是非ご自身で見て頂きたいです。
数年前に見た人工知能に恋する「her/世界でひとつの彼女」や学生３人が超能力に目覚める「クロニクル」のような、もしAIと恋したら、もし学生が超能力に目覚めたら、というようなifの世界をリアルに描いている作品でした。
今作のように人工知能を身体に入れたらこんな展開もあるんだなと考えさせれらる作品で、個人的はかなり好きな作品になりました。
